Karen Vandijk

…has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for close to 20 years, with over 12 years of experience in Childcare Administration.  Karen has a BTh and an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Program Management.  Karen loves working with children and families, and is very excited to be a part of this new and dynamic team at NCC, and of the ECE community in South Central MB.  Karen lives just outside of Morden with her husband Brian and their 2 children.  They are a family who loves worship music, animals, and enjoying time outside on their yard.

Vicki Campbell-Dyck

Vicki Campbell-Dyck has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 32 years, with over 9 years of experience as a Site Manager.  Vicki has her ECE III in Daycare Management.  She is also a certified personal trainer and can often be found at the Fittwell Centre. She very much enjoys her  position in such a unique and dynamic centre. Vicki lives in Morden with her husband Garry, she has 4 children between the ages of 18 to 24.  She has a passion for children and enjoys getting to know and working with families. She loves plants, gardening, bugs, camping, bike riding, baking, crafting and sitting back to enjoy a good book.

 Shawna Klippenstein

…is an ECE II who has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for approximately 25 years.  Her training and years of experience in the field has given her a wealth of understanding of the developmental stages of children.  Building trust and positive relationships is a great skill of Shawna’s.  Shawna lives in Altona with her two daughters and enjoys relaxing at the cottage and meeting new people to hear their life stories.

Dana Enns

…is an ECE III with a calm, cool and collected approach to childcare.  We’re not sure what it would take to see her frazzled.  She is married and has 2 beautiful children.  Dana also has a degree in Human Ecology specializing in Child Development, and an advanced diploma in Early Childhood Program Management.  She has been involved in a number of childcare programs in Winnipeg and Southern Manitoba since 2007, and she has done some ECE instructing at Red River College.

Jasmine Driedger

Jasmine Driedger

Jasmine loves to do large motor activities with children, playing outside and in the gym.  She also likes to do crafts with them.  Outside of work she enjoys doing puzzles, playing baseball, watching hockey, and volunteering with Special Olympics.  Jasmine has 2 favorite hockey teams – The Winnipeg Jets and the Colorado Avalanche.  A highlight for her was watching those 2 teams play each other in Winnipeg.  (The Jets won in overtime).  Her favorite T.V. program is Modern Family, her favorite season is Fall and her favorite color is navy blue.

…is an ECE II with an interest in working with kids who have special needs.  Her first experience with childcare involved babysitting her nephews since she was 12, and she has been working in this field for over 9 years.  Her favorite activities to do with children include musical games or singing, and sensory experiences.  Outside of work Rina enjoys puzzling, paint-by-numbers, and biking.  Her favorite season is Autumn because of the beautiful variety of colors in the leaves.  Her favorite color is green.

…has been working in childcare for over 10 years.  She prefers to do the messy activities!! Outside of work Erin enjoys reading, cross stitch, shopping, watching T.V. and sleeping.  Her favorite T.V. shows are Friends and The Big Bang Theory.  Her favorite season is Summer because she loves the sun and the heat.  Yellow is her favorite color.  When Erin was young she used to put anything and everything in her pockets…her mom once sent earth worms through the washer!!

Althea’s first experiences in childcare came from being a nanny and a Sunday School teacher.  She has worked in licensed childcare for over 5 years, and has been with NCC since our beginning.  Her naturally calm personality is a huge asset in a classroom of busy 2 year olds.  Althea has a genuine love for children’s books which is reflected in her love to read stories to the kids at NCC.  She also enjoys doing art projects with them.  When she’s not at work, Althea enjoys playing piano, reading, playing and watching baseball, and spending time with her sisters.  Her favorite season is Winter because she loves Christmas and sledding!

Morgan Harrison

…has moved from a casual position into a part time term position.  Morgan came to NCC with experience at another regional Childcare Centre, and has been a great help in working with children of all ages at NCC.  Morgan has begun taking courses in the ECE program through Assiniboine Community College.

Lina Loewen

Lina Loewen

…has taken ECE training in Germany and completed her ECE II training in Canada.  She has a natural gift when it comes to caring for babies. She is sweet, and gentle, and we value her intuitive way with them. Lina has been working in licensed childcare for over 3 years but her first experiences were with siblings, lots of cousins, and babysitting.  Her favorite activities to do with children are painting and singing songs. Apart from work Lina enjoys reading books, skiing, and travelling.  She has been in at least 13 countries and on 2 cruises.  Lina’s favorite season is summer because she enjoys being outside.  Lina does NOT like animals (petting zoo day at daycare is definitely not her favorite!), the only dog she likes is their own.

…is a devoted wife and mom to 3, and also a child care assistant who has had ECE training in Germany.  She is fluent in German and Russian and often serves as an interpreter for us in the office.  She is not afraid to tackle messy activities with the kids and is always on the lookout for new things for them to do.

…has worked in childcare since NCC opened its doors.  Her childcare experiences began with 3 younger siblings and lots of younger cousins to babysit!  Abby’s favorite activities to do with children are singing songs, exploring nature, finding what they’re interested in and building off of that.  Outside of work Abby loves to exercise, explore her dad’s hunting grounds, and listen to music at full blast!  She is in love with Autumn because of the colors, smells and wearing cozy sweaters.  Her favorite animal is the lion because it is majestic, her least favorite is spiders.  She once rode on a donkey down part of the Grand Canyon, and plans to explore New Zealand with her husband this fall.

…began with NCC as a casual staff but moved into an inclusion support position and eventually, in the summer of 2017, into a full time role.  Krista has always had a positive attitude and willingness to work wherever needed.  She is is an experienced athlete and her training has taught her not to be easily frazzled…even in the busy toddler room.

…has become known at NCC as “Tina M.”  She began her time with us as a volunteer, and then was hired as a part time/casual staff.  After taking a break to pursue other interests, Tina M. came back to NCC.  After a period of time Tina took on the challenging role of cook–preparing snacks and hot lunches for our many children.  Tina loves to learn and grow her base of knowledge and skill sets.  She lives in Winkler with her husband and daughter.

Tina’s gentle hands, listening ears and caring smile bring elements of calm and joy to children, parents and staff alike.  We are blessed by her willingness to work in whichever area she is needed.  Tina is married, has 3 sons, 1 daughter-in-law, and 1 grand daughter.  She cherishes time spent with her family and has been their number one cheerleader at many sporting and other ‘life’ events.

…has had experience in the childcare field for at least 36 years.  From babysitting siblings, to having 2 kids of her own, to volunteering in church programming, to being an EA, to recently receiving her ECE II and starting at NCC – she has had a taste of it all!  She loves to read to or with children and to instill in them a love for books. Outside of work Marilyn enjoys reading, counted cross stitch and long walks.  She can usually be found taking care of her family and dog.  Her favorite season is Autumn, she loves the color of changing leaves and the crisp, clean air.   Her favorite animal is the lemur because it’s cool looking and she’d love to be able to swing through the trees like they do. Her least favorite animal is the snake because it’s too sneaky and slithery.  Marilyn grew up on the largest fresh water island in the world and has lived in 4 provinces.

…began formally working in childcare in January of 2015, but her experiences with children started with babysitting and watching her siblings.  She enjoys reading to children, making crafts and doing other hands-on activities with them. Outside of work she enjoys reading, puzzling and playing with their puppies and kittens.  Evelyn will complete her ECE II training this summer and will become a full time staff member.

Jaclyn Goertzen

…began her experience with childcare by babysitting her own siblings and continued in respite work with over 30 children.  She found joy in volunteering at camp for five summers as both a counselor and assistant director of TeePee Village.  Jaclyn is calm and caring with all of the children that she works with.  She also loves all things related to soccer, music and art.

…brings a positive presence to NCC.  With more than 8 years experience working with children in various positions, she has learned that each child has a unique personality that brings the room something new to learn.  Besides being a CCA here at NCC, Brooklyn enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends as well as growing her passions in the culinary arts and being a tropical fish enthusiast.

Rachel Toews

…was one of NCC’s very first volunteers, she has helped us out since before the centre even opened. She is now in training to become an ECE.  Her experience in childcare began as soon as she was old enough to help in her church’s kid’s programs, and also by babysitting her cousins – she has 14 cousins 0-13 years old.  She loves to do crafts and get messy with children.  Outside of work Rachel can be found taking pictures for friends or family, spending time with friends, writing notes to friends, making DIY projects, and spends lots of time working on ECE courses.  Her favorite season is Fall because of the beautiful colors and smells and because it’s when the fuzzy scarves and mitts come out.  Her favorite animal is the jelly fish because it looks interesting, her least favorite is the snake because it’s ‘creepy and gross.’

…began her employment in the kitchen and was fantastic at organizing, planning and most of all cooking.  She is currently working in the infant program where her continual smiles, laughter and fun loving attitude are a favorite with the babies.  Her belief is that “the most important thing we can do for our children is to love them”.

Allison’s first experience working with kids was actually at the public library; she enjoys reading to kids as well as doing arts and crafts with them. Allison’s hobbies include playing video games, longboarding, snowboarding, sewing, and reading. Snowboarding makes Winter her favorite season. When Allison’s not at work she can often be found quilting, baking or doing homework. Her favorite color is emerald green.

…began with NCC as a student volunteer.  Her confident and positive attitude have been an asset to the Centre and we are happy to have her on board as part of our staff team.  Renee is always flexible and easy going, ready to help out wherever needed.  Most recently she has become a full time member of the Butterfly Room team.
